Harwell Cottage
Work in progress
A refreshed planting scheme for a traditional garden in the grounds of a
beautiful old cottage.
The garden is surrounded by a brick wall and fencing and is already stocked with some mature plants, climbers and trees. Many of the plants flower in spring and early summer but leave the garden quite bare the rest of the year.
A planting scheme to relocate some of the existing plants and introduce shape, colour and form for late summer, autumn and winter is on the wish list. The clients love blue flowers and so the scheme reflects this with blues, mauves and some pinks. Whilst keeping with the very traditional feel of the property, the garden also needs to be low maintenance which isn't always the case with cottage gardens.
Along with the planting, a new coat of paint on the shed and a new bench to take advantage of the afternoon sun, this garden will reward with colour and form all year round and be a lovely place in which the family can relax.
